Taking Off Fundamentals - Mondays

  • Description: In this course you will learn the basic rhythms of Lindy Hop and Charleston, as well as the fundamentals of partner connection in swing dancing.
  • Requirements to register: This course is suitable for beginners and students dancing for less than one year.

* 10 weeks lindy hop progressive course (a 55min class per week).

* When: Mondays at 7:30pm.

Start day: Monday 9th of Sep. 2019

Finish day: Monday 18th Nov. 2019

(9th, 16th, 23th &, 30th of Sep; 7th, 14th & 21st of Oct; 4th, 11th & 18th of Nov.)

Please note there is not class on Monday 28th of October due to the bank holiday.

  • Requirements to register: To sign up to this course you must have previously completed Taking Off Fundamentals (TO1) course and/or be comfortable with basic 6c and 8c Lindy Hop and Charleston rhythms and basic partner moves including Swing Out.

  • Description: In this course we will focus on enhancing your partnership skills focusing on connection, momentum, turns, redirections and creativity!
  • Requirements to register: This course is suitable for students dancing for less than one year. Completion of Taking Off Vocabulary (TO2) course and/or be comfortable with basic 6c and 8c Lindy Hop and Charleston rhythms and basic partner moves including Swing Out.

* 10 weeks lindy hop progressive course (a 55 min class per week).

* When: Wednesdays at 6:30pm

Start day: Wednesday 11th Sep. 2019.

Finish day: Wednesday 13th Nov. 2019

Gaining Altitude Technique

  • Description: In this course you will learn more complex and interesting Lindy and Charleston moves, focusing on having a clear and continuous communication with your partner, working on technical concepts such as momentum, directions, turns, energy and counterbalance. 
  • Requirements to register: To sign up to this course you must have previously completed Taking Off courses and/or be comfortable with basic 6c & 8c Lindy Hop and Charleston rhythms and basic partner moves including Swing Out. Suitable for students with 1+ years of regular classes and social dancing.

* 10 weeks lindy hop progressive course (a 55 min class per week).

* When: Thursdays at 7pm

Start day: Thursday 12th Sep. 2019

Finish day: Thursday 14th Nov. 2019

Flying High

  • Description: In this course we will focus on different aspects of swing dancing every term. We will explore in depth concepts like technique, musicality and connection; and fine-tune your dance skills through plenty of drills.
  • Requirements to register: To sign up to this course you must have previously completed Gaining Altitude courses and/or have 2+ years of regular classes and social dancing.

* 10 weeks lindy hop progressive course (a 55 min class per week).

Solo Jazz

  • Description: In this course we will work on expanding your vocabulary of solo moves with a particular focus on rhymic variations. We'll dedicate time to creativity and improvisation exercises to help you find your own solo style.
  • Requirement to register: Previous Solo Jazz experience stronly recommended as the course will progress at a faster pace. If you are a Solo Jazz beginner but think you'll be up for the challenge, please contact us to discuss.

We have a party!!

It's Swing By's 2nd anniversary and we want to celebrate it with you :)
